4월 4일 세계의 여러 여성단체들과 시민단체들이 윤석열 당선인에게 '여성가족부 폐지 공약을 철회하라'는 공동성명문을 발표했다.


다음은 성명문 앞부분 내용..번역

선거 유세 기간, 윤석열 당선인과 국민의힘은 코로나19 사태 이후 경제적 불평등을 심화시키고 성차별과 사회에 뿌리내린 폭력을 포함한 현재 중요한 문제에 대한 합리적인 정책 해결책을 제안하는 대신, 반페미니즘적 반발을 적극적으로 선동하고 이용했습니다. 특히, 윤석열 당선인은 한국에 체계적인 성차별이 없다고 말하면서, 여성가족부를 폐지하는 것을  주요 공약으로 삼았습니다. 지금 대통령직인수위원회에서 정부조직 개편과 관련한 논의가 진행 중이지만, 그는 아직 부처 폐지 약속을 철회하지 않았습니다. 전세계의 시민사회단체들은 그의 입장에 대해 강하게 우려를 표하고 있습니다.

이들은 1995년 베이징 선언으로 189개국이 모두 성평등기구에 대해 동의 했음에도

여성부를 폐지하려는 생각은 여성 권리에 대한 심각한 퇴보이며 한국뿐만 아니라 아시아 태평양 지역과 국제 사회에 해로운 영향을 미칠 것이라고도 하였다.


이들이 발표한 공동성명문은 총 116개의 글로벌 시민단체들과 17명의 성평등학자/페미니스트 활동가들이 서명했다.
